Frequently asked questions

How does the ergonomic analysis work?

The scalefit ergonomic analysis takes place directly in your company. Using our INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE biomechanical measurement system and state-of-the-art motion capture technology (XSENS), we accurately assess the physical strain on your employees – without disrupting the workflow. The system's 17 matchbox-sized sensors are comfortably worn over regular work clothing and measure key parameters in real time, including force, postures and repetitive movements – the three main risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

The results are visualized as a 3D avatar with animated strain representations, as well as a real video recording. Potential areas for improvement can be identified during the analysis. Following the assessment, you receive a comprehensive report with detailed evaluations and concrete recommendations for optimizing workplace ergonomics.

What can I expect from an ergonomic analysis?

The INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE ergonomic analysis provides you with an objective, precise, and real-time measurement of your employees' physical workload – significantly faster and more accurate than traditional subjective methods that rely on observations and estimations.

During the on-site assessment, an experienced ergonomics expert gives you immediate feedback on the current workplace conditions and explains the recorded strain factors. In direct exchange with your employees, initial practical optimization measures are discussed.

The collected data serves as a solid foundation for identifying health risks early and implementing targeted improvements to workplace ergonomics – helping to prevent long-term health issues such as musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

Yes, scalefit ensures that all ergonomic analyses and risk assessments are conducted in full compliance with current legal regulations and DIN standards. Our INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE system is based on recognized occupational science and biomechanical assessment criteria, as outlined in DGUV Information 208-033 and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (§ 5 and § 6). Additionally, we offer the option to document the results directly as a risk assessment using the key indicator method (lift, hold, carry), ensuring full compliance with legal requirements.

Our solutions help you perform legally compliant ergonomic assessments that are essential for documentation, compliance and audits.

What are the advantages of digital ergonomic analysis compared to traditional methods?

Our digital ergonomic analysis delivers faster and more accurate results than traditional methods by relying on objectively measured data instead of estimations and observations. It replaces time-consuming procedures like checklists and provides instant evaluations that can be directly used to improve working conditions.

Get in touch with us for a personal consultation on how these advantages can be applied specifically within your company.

How quickly will I receive results after an ergonomic analysis?

Initial results are available on-site during the analysis and can be discussed immediately. A detailed evaluation follows in the form of a comprehensive report, which we provide shortly after the assessment.

Feel free to contact us to learn more about the process and how quickly it can be implemented in your company.

What do we need to prepare for an ergonomic analysis?

No special preparations are required for an ergonomic analysis with the INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE. The system (XSENS with inertial sensors) is worn directly over regular work clothing and does not restrict movement in any way.

The analysis can be performed on almost any type of workstation, whether the task is manual or more complex. A single measurement on a representative employee is all it takes to gain valuable insights that can be applied to your entire workforce. Up to 10 different tasks can be analyzed per day, making the system easily scalable for businesses of any size.

Can the INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE also be used for physical risk assessment?

Yes, the INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE is an excellent tool for evaluating and documenting working conditions in accordance with the German Occupational Health and Safety Act (ArbSchG) §§5 and 6. With this digital solution, you can carry out physical risk assessments based on the key indicator method (lift, hold, carry) in just a few minutes.

Instead of relying on lengthy, traditional procedures, the INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE provides immediate, accurate and objective data on physical strain and ergonomic risk factors in the workplace. The results are generated directly in the correct key indicator method (lift, hold, carry) format, ready for documentation. You also receive the data as video recordings, CSV files and detailed analysis reports that can be used for further evaluation and workplace optimization.

We are considering introducing exoskeletons in our company, but are not sure if they will provide the ergonomic relief we expect. Can scalefit help us evaluate and make this decision?

Yes, scalefit can support you in evaluating whether the use of exoskeletons is the right choice for your organization. Using our INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE system, we objectively measure the physical strain on your employees and identify ergonomic risk factors. These data provide a solid basis to assess whether exoskeletons deliver the intended relief.

In addition, we can simulate the impact of exoskeletons directly within our analysis software, allowing you to visualize and evaluate the reduction in strain under real working conditions. This gives you a reliable foundation for making informed decisions about whether implementing exoskeletons will truly help reduce musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and associated downtime in your workplace.

We have many workplaces that we want to assess for physical stress. Would it make sense for us to buy our own measurement system?

If your company plans to evaluate a large number of workstations for physical strain and ergonomic risk factors, purchasing your own measurement system can be a smart investment. scalefit offers the INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE system for purchase, including the XSENS motion capture hardware and the INDUSTRIAL ATHLETE software.

Your internal team will receive in-depth training during an on-site workshop, enabling you to conduct ergonomic assessments independently. This provides a long-term, cost-effective solution to continuously improve workplace ergonomics and reduce health risks sustainably.

Contact us for a customized offer – we’ll be happy to advise you.

We would like to carry out the measurements ourselves but need support from an ergonomics expert to assess the results.

It is possible to collect the raw data from the measurements independently and send it to us. Our ergonomics experts can analyze and evaluate the raw data in detail. You will receive a comprehensive analysis of the results, providing an accurate assessment of the ergonomic risk factors and physical strain experienced by your employees. Based on this assessment, you will receive specific recommendations and solutions to optimize ergonomic working conditions.
